I am selling my Subaru for 1300, it has definitely been reliable for us in our time of need and now we are looking to pass it down to someone else who needs it. It is running with about 280,000 miles on it. The brakes are fine, as well as the tires. It's not the most visually appealing car. Paint is chipping, there is rust (pictured) and there is? spray paint on the gas cover (also pictured). The driver's side passenger door does not open at all. And the suspension is a little bouncy. The inside is worn, the heater works fine, but there is no radio. The drivers side door does not open from the outside, but does open from the inside. The sunroof is broken and should not be opened unless you know how to repair it. The passenger side inside mirror is broken off the sun shield, but is not cracked. It's an old car, but she's definitely been reliable.
